Meet Maxime Arnaud and check out his theme "La Place Jourdan"

My name is Maxime, I'm French and I spend a lot of time in Brussels.

Smiling in Saint-Gilles, Brussels

I chose a square instead of a topic because I really like the Place Jourdan: its fritterie Chez Antoine, the market on Sunday morning, the children playing…

Meet Ewa Magnowska and check out her vision of Brussels' neighbourhood of Schaerbeek

Hello, I’m Ewa and I am coming from Poland

I have been living in Brussels quite some time, but I keep discovering the city’s charming architecture, but also the habits of the multicultural mosaic of people living here. I happen to live in a very vibrant area of Schaerbeek, where I enjoy being a flâneur during local markets, apéros and recent World Cup cheering. The ambiance of the neighbourhood and a sense of locality are key topics for me and my photography.

I also look for interesting and un-obvious details in public space, pretty much everything which catches my eye.

Meet Smaro Pegiou and check out her analogue project shot in B&W

My name is Smaro Pegiou
I'm interested into photography and especially into film photography. Photography is for me the best way to express my thoughts, my fears, my perception about our magnificent world.

This specific project gave me the chance to observe and capture natural moments of ordinary people of different age and origin living in Brussels

The project was shot in B&W Kodak TMAX 400ISO film which I developed myself and then scanned for digital use.

I hope this small project contribution may give an insight of Brussels's people.

Photo workshop #4 - Macro practice and visit to the Royal Greenhouses of Laeken

This time workshop was very special because we went to visit the Royal Greenhouses of Laeken that are opened only two weeks a year!

It was a visit by night of the gardens and the greenhouses.

We put in practice what we had learned about macro photography and enjoyed a fantastic visit!
